Every year South Jordan City presents the Corporate Citizen Award to a business that has been an active partner within the community. South Jordan City recognizes the importance of its relationship with the business community and appreciates the contribution made by companies that took a chance and pioneered their business venture within the city. The South Jordan Corporate Citizens Award has been presented to only a select group of companies since 2010, and it is an honor for Ivory Homes to receive.
Ivory Homes is Utah’s Number One Homebuilder® leading the Utah market for 34 consecutive years and the 2021 National Homebuilder of the Year. Ivory Homes has built over 26,000 homes for Utahns, including luxury apartments, homes for active adults, townhomes, small lot cottages, condominiums, and single-family homes in communities large and small.
As part of the Ivory Homes' Utah Workforce Housing Priority and commitment to Utah's most vital workforce, South Jordan City and Ivory Homes collaborated on a project to provide affordable housing for city and local school district employees. The Bingham Court Workforce Partnership included innovative zoning and infrastructure cost sharing to allow for deed-restricted, affordable homes for frontline workers. This comes as demand for housing and affordability challenges in Utah are at an unprecedented level.
“Ivory Homes has been working with us to develop innovative solutions for housing in South Jordan,” Gary Whatcott, South Jordan City Manager said. “We appreciate their commitment to helping families become homeowners.”
Since 2018, Ivory Homes has helped more than 400 individuals and families achieve homeownership through their Utah Workforce Housing Priority. The program reserves the most affordable homes for our community’s critical workforce and first-time homebuyers.
“We are all in this together to make sure our kids and our City employees – our police and firefighters - and educators can afford to call our communities home, now and in the future. They make our City great, and this partnership with Ivory gave us the tools to give them a chance to make a brighter future for themselves and their families,” South Jordan Mayor Dawn Ramsey said.
