With the new year just around the corner, our Design Team has some suggestions on how to prepare your home for the upcoming year.

• Take an inventory of your belongings.
  
  • The Christmas holiday brings with it a slew of new (and fun) items, so take a few minutes to go through each room and find the items that no longer bring you value.   Then decide what can be thrown out and what can be donated.
• Give your home a thorough clean.
  • Everybody’s heard of spring cleaning, but the beginning of the year is an ideal time to give your entire home a thorough clean.  Wash the walls, deep clean the carpets, and even add a fresh coat of paint if you need to.  Your house will feel brand new!
• Try a Décor Refresh.
  • This can be as simple as rearranging the furniture or swapping art from room to room.  Sometimes just moving things around can give your space a whole new feel!
• Add some green.
  • Houseplants or flowers can breathe new life into a space and are an especially welcome addition to your home during the long winter months.  In addition, flowers have been shown to work as natural mood elevators which is perfect when going outside is difficult.
