Millwork really elevates a space.  Traditional wainscotting is having a moment in the world of design right now, and is an excellent way to add some elegance to a space.  By choosing a saturated color for either the walls or the added wainscot, it can also be a great way to introduce bold color into a space in limited amounts.

Pattern is your friend.  Maximalism is gaining in popularity and pattern is a key component in this style of decorating.  Although combining patterns can be a source of anxiety in decorating, it doesn’t need to be.  Just remember this simple rule.  When choosing multiple patterns. to combine, opt for different scales with common colors.
