25 INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS TO THE HOUSING AFFORDABILITY CRISIS

Today, Ivory Innovations announced the Top 25 Finalists for the 2023 Ivory Prize for Housing Affordability. Finalists for the prize demonstrated ambitious, feasible, and scalable solutions to the housing affordability crisis and were selected from 203 total nominees. 

This year’s finalists in the Construction & Design category include solutions to the labor shortage as well as environmentally friendly building solutions focused on decreasing construction time. In the Finance category, finalists include organizations focused on construction financing, shared-equity models, and renter programs that support increased savings and equity. This year’s finalists in the Policy & Regulatory Reform category include organizations focused on addressing historically lengthy processes, such as accelerating permitting and connecting LMI individuals to housing opportunities.

“As we work to address the nation’s housing shortage and affordability crisis, one bright spot is innovation,” said Kent Colton, Chairman of the Ivory Innovations Advisory Board. “The Ivory Prize Top 25 Finalists in 2023 highlight the important work which is underway to achieve creative change and solutions throughout the country. Most importantly, they will make a difference in the lives of the many people who seek and need affordable housing.”
